Welp. A Minor Miscalculation has hit ten chapters of its planned twenty-five, and I've said in the past that at this point, I would start additionally working on renewing Yognapped and publishing some original content for a non-fanfic audience. Let's talk about those things now, so you know what's going on.
ON MY ORIGINAL CONTENT:
You may have noticed that I've been carrying out widespread deletion of things pertaining to Team Sigma, and that my "Primary Original Work" folder is even smaller than it used to be. I've been holding off on talking about why, because I fear this will cost me some readers.
It was brought to my attention by reliable sources some time ago that DeviantART legally owns everything published here. This is why they can sell art designs to shirt retailers without the actual artist seeing a single red cent. DA staffers have denied this in the past, but experience has taught us all that the DA administration is composed primarily of greedy, self-aggrandizing douche canoes. So I don't necessarily trust their word.
My intent to turn Team Sigma, City of Bones, Penitence Chronicles, and The Games We Play / Sophia Marks Saga (along with some unrevealed others) into novels is well known by now, I would hope. That is my future, and I can't have my future entangled in ambiguous copyright, so I don't really know what to do.
YOU CAN STILL EXPECT: Full chapter teasers for each planned book, as well as the first halves of each first book in a series before they're swiftly deleted for real-world publication. Things like Stalked may also come back, although given that Stalked is completely reliant on comments to progress, I may hold off on it until I have solidified my readership again. And, of course, my collaboration with will be entirely original.
ON YOGNAPPED:
I am not the same person I was when I first uploaded "Yognapped P1" in early 2012. Back then, the Yogscast was not far removed from the glory days of Shadow of Israphel, which is the universe I chose to root Yognapped in. As time went on, however, I lost that deep connection I felt to them; they became just another gaming conglomerate with a stellar ensemble, not the profound comedy gods they started their Minecraft exploits as. The passion I felt creating the Yognapped universe drained. Writing it felt like work, not helped by the steadily disappearing readership. I didn't intend for the series hiatus to last almost a year and a half, but as other stories consumed my attention, Yognapped just languished in the background. Nobody cared, really.
I recently revised my outlines for the third and as-yet-unreleased fourth sagas, which restored some of my interest in at least finishing the Minecraftia Falls storyline. However, the only regular readers of the story at the time of its "cancellation" were , , and -- the first of whom left for over a year due to personal reasons and only recently resumed contact with me, the second of whom is unresponsive to my messages, and the last of whom has informed me that they are no longer really active on the site. That's not a high risk/reward ratio for me to begin with, and I harbor strong doubts that anyone new will want to get into the clusterfuck of perspectives and subplots that the series has become.
YOU CAN STILL EXPECT: Me to finish Minecraftia Falls... maybe. A Minor Miscalculation is much higher on my priorities: I love the preexisting universe and characters, the storyline I've come up with is much more focused, and it gets more than triple the amount of attention I expect from DA publishing -- it's gotten over 250 views just this week, it currently has over 50 followers and even more favorites, and I can expect at least six or seven reviews for every chapter I put out. Also take into account that I have one more difficult and time-consuming year of school left, after which I'll be 18 and ready to start shifting focus to my official novels, with much fewer updates to online stories that I don't actively care about. I don't know when Yognapped will have my attention. If you care about the series, please make that clear to me.
Expect further updates and content in the future.

The Fourth Annual Golden Gas Mask Awards, Part 2
I cannot finish this. I delayed it completely until I got the last chapter and a few other things done, and by then my passion for this section was drained and I hit major writer's block. It's taken me this long to concede defeat, but I've just gotta put it out in its current state and move on to the last section so it stops clogging every other project. If there's anything unfinished you're curious about, feel free to ask in the comments.
Some spoilers follow.

The Fourth Annual Golden Gas Mask Awards, Part 1
Welcome to the long-delayed part of the awards where I get to gush about all my favorite things of the last year. I'll spare you a long introduction and just say that we could all use a bit of positivity in our lives, so without further ado, here you go. Like 2016's awards, this will encompass only the film section -- TV and anime (which I'm even more enthusiastic about chronicling) will be in Part 2, and video games will end us off.
As always, while nothing spoilery gets actively described, some contextual spoilers follow.

3. The Bye-Bye Man
By normal qualifiers, January horror trash fire The Bye-Bye Man would take first place on this list -- it's rife with incredibly poor acting, cinematography below the par of a student film, incompetent and flaccid scares, C-grade special effects, inexplicable lapses in logic, and plot holes galore. How it got into theaters, except by including Faye Dunaway and Carrie-Anne Moss in minor roles, boggles the mind. But I can't rank it above the final two for a simple reason, which is that watching The Bye-Bye Man is an absolute blast in wa
Fourth Annual GGMA and GTFA Introduction
Since the Gangrenous Trench Foot Awards doc is pushing the boundaries of publishable length already, I'm just typing this up as a little formal introduction.
2017 was a... bizarre year. In terms of politics, everything spiraled wildly out of control in every department from executive conduct to FCC corruption to general international respectability. It's still quite weird to think about, like a long national fever dream. But in terms of media as well, we were spoiled for choice on both masterpieces in every medium and some of the most rancid trash in years, the sheer breadth of which made these awards as fun just to compile as to type up.
